4 Million reasons to use A For Audi

4 Million reasons to use A For Audi

It is 15 years since EU regulations stopped mainstream motor dealerships
operating a monopoly on the service and repair of big brands and allowed
consumers to choose independent garages offering the same quality of work
for a lot less money.
“When you compare our average charges for services, repairs or general
maintenance against those of the main dealerships we estimate we have
saved our thousands of regular clients more than £4 million over the last 12
years. It ’s no wonder the big boys aren’t in a hurry to advertise the fact that
people don’ t need to use them,”  said Andrew Duthie, Director of A For Audi.
In October 2003 the European Commission introduced its market-liberalising
Block Exemption Regulation (BER) directive which put a stop to a cartel of
car manufacturers and their authorised dealerships holding motorists to
ransom over the cost of maintenance and repairs.
Until the BER became law owners risked nullifying their vehicle warranty if
they had their car serviced or repaired by anyone outside the manufacturers
network.
The new law made it illegal to force motorists to have their vehicle serviced
by a main dealer as a condition of the manufacturer's warranty and allowed
customers to choose an independent garage who could offer the same quality
of work and parts for a lower price without impacting the warranty.
However, despite the change in legislation many motorists still think they
need to go to a main dealership and have no choice but to pay the higher
prices imposed upon them.
“I am always amazed how many people still don’t know the law changed 15
years ago and they have been paying the price ever since,”  said Andrew.
A For Audi was one of the first independent garages in Scotland to take
advantage of BER. Since opening its doors in 2006 the company has
expanded to offer the same level of care to owners of other brands, including
BMW and Porsche.
“More than 80 per cent of our business is from repeat customers because we
try to think like a consumer as well as a business,”  said Andrew.
“We know most people want a garage that will look after their car and them
without any fuss, no hidden costs and charge a fair price for the job."
“A lot of our clients are busy people and don’t always have time to take a day
off to get their car serviced or drive out to an edge of town dealership and
then rely on public transport to get to work or home again. That’s why we
introduced our express service.”
A For Audi Express has a purpose built reception situated at the Q Park,
Waterloo Street, Glasgow where customers can drop off their vehicle and
carry on with their day-to-day routine .
While the customer goes to work, or enjoys a day shopping, A For Audi
drivers will take the car back to their state-of-the-art premises at Clydebank,
where all the necessary tasks are carried out, and the vehicle is returned to
Waterloo Street by the end of the day.
“We are continually looking for ways to make life easier for our clients and by
launching the first city centre drop and collect service in the UK we are again
providing something else the main dealerships don’ t do, ”  said Andrew.
